London City Airport

The walkway lighting at London City Airport was a bespoke canopy trunking system, which replaced the existing system with new LED downlighters and PIR sensors built into the trunking.

The requirement was to replace the fluorescent lighting with LED lighting and controls. This greatly reduced maintenance as well as providing an energy saving solution. The downlights were in groups of three with a sensor for each group. The daylight sensors ensured that two lights in each group came on at dusk and then once someone walked along the walkway the PIR sensors would turn the third light on to provide the required luminance.

A total of three canopies were supplied with the LED alternative and controls system.
